Morro Bay with Olive

Olive is the puppy in the back

To start Memorial Day Monday we took Olive to the dog beach in Morro Bay. She was great. There were tons of other dogs there with their human buddies and Olive loved visiting all of them. Jada and Jubliee were the wonderful teachers as I knew they would be. Each day Olive grows more confident and more coordinated. I am so happy to have a new puppy.
Olive is the reason I started this blog. A journal of sorts to help me remember.
Later we are going to Artisan Restaurant for lunch with my dear Friends Chris and Glenn. One of my all time favorite local restaurants! Here is a link...check it out!www.artisanpasorobles.com

Cherry Tree

Turns out we have a cherry tree. I spent the best part of today in the yard. Did the mow and blow thing, then decided to work o a few of my planters around the yard. Pulled weeds, trimmed stuff and did a lot of dead heading on my beautiful roses. That's when I saw the fruit on the cherry tree. So excited. Will have to work on keeping the birds away. Next it was out to my horse, Smooch, to work on her level 1 Parelli skills. www.parelli.com She was great. I am working with a level 2 Parelli trainer, Staci, and it is helping me and my horse tremendously. 25 years ago I left the world of horses because I had a hard time with the training methods of most trainers in the western cutting and reining world. Submission and  harsh physical discipline was the style back then. I came back to horses because I missed them so and was ecstatic to see how much has changed. Pat Parelli is one of the guys that has changed the horse world forever. Enough said. Check out his website if you are interested! Now for some of Stephan's  2010 L" Aventure Rose(my personal favorite) www.aventurewine.com  which is 70% syrah and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Pairing it with Spanish Chorizo with Manchego and Marcona almonds! Great having a chef for a husband. Happy Memorial weekend.

South Africa Trip

After 6 months I have finally made my picture travel book on  www.shutterfly.com. A good friend of mine told me about their great user friendly multi functional site...and she was right! Wild dog in Kruger National Park...Love dogs!

Elliot

Today I met Elliot, the donkey. He was rescued by a friend. He is lucky to be adopted by such a great gal! His butt landed in the butter, for sure...Lucky guy.
